French Toast is Fuel

So here is my first post- this blog was really started so that when I move I can keep in touch with my family and friends. I've never done this before and it seems pretty narcissistic, but how else do you get the word out about things like French Toast and riding the wind tunnels?!

This morning was one of those perfect Sunday mornings: coffee, quiet, blankets, a book. After a run up my ridge line (No snakes or owls today- yesterday's 5 footer was plenty for me. Why don't gopher snakes move when you ask them to? It's annoying...), I was welcomed home with a brunch of French Toast, chicken apple sausages and fresh strawberries. How my boyfriend becomes so ambitious sometimes and whips up such gastric treats is beyond me, but I ain't complaining.

The toast, or was it the syrup, fueled me for an all out 15 mile sprint around the back side of China Camp with wind gusts up to 25mph. Whoda' thunk French Toast could do that? I love the French- they've done me good. My bod was amped today- can't really explain it, but it wanted to go go go.

More things I'm learning to love:
1) Not running more than 6 miles at a time for the last month (since the Marathon)
2) Born to Run It is hilarious and so fun to read if you are interested in athletes (even if you're not a runner). This guys is funny like Bill Bryson... maybe funnier.
3) Double workouts with my bike and/or a pool.
4) Ally McBeal (I've comandeered our Netflix account)
5) Kiefer with carob powder for dessert
6) Wrestling with my recent attempt at Facebook. I'm not sold- it's been 24 hours.
7) Spirulina and lots of extra calcium- is it good for me? Not sure yet, but it seems like those little green guys must be doing something though. Can't hurt.
8) Drinking lots of hot chocolate- cocoa powder, stevia, vanilla, dash of salt. Yum!
9) Thinking about my wrinkles- I think I'm getting wrinkles, or starting to notice the one's I've had for awhile. I'm not sure if I should try to kill them or love them. It kind of makes me laugh.

...and 10) knowing I won't have to work in the evenings after next week- can't describe the freedom I feel as I don't stare down the barrel at another impending school year...

  1. Oh I love this! I think this will be much better than facebook at keeping us informed (especially since I have to lay-low on fb these days). I'm jealous, 3/4 of my blogging is against my will, so this will be very refreshing for me! Oh and, hells yeah, look at me, first comment on the squiddie blog - woot woot! One more thing, you will not notice wrinkles as much when you move out of marin. I don't see where to put my email address, so for anyone who is interested in my fabulous comment, this is buggity-o.
